Bittersweet Beach

We love the beach

 

One of our favorite parts about living here is that we get to see the ocean every day.

Dave has even taken an interest in surfing as a result of our close proximity to the waves.

In fact, he's gotten so good at surfing that he just purchased his first surf board:

A new surfboard is great; however, a wetsuit was not included with the purchase.

...which leads to one 'bitter' aspect of the beach...

With no wetsuit, those salt water waves can do some hefty damage to your ----------

 

Nicole would much rather be a beach bum; however, on occasion she does go out swimming.

...which leads to another 'bitter' aspect of the beach...

The floor of the ocean is covered with sea urchins:

 Sea urchins + Nicole's foot = an extremely painful day week

There are about 20 tips of that urchin stuck in her foot

[and they aren't coming out very quickly or easily]

 

But we still love the beach
