Tug-of-war:
Memory:
An insane obstacle course which involved pushing a car, knife throwing, and pull-ups (among other things):
[side note: The pull up bar broke while Dave was doing pull-ups. This resulted in him falling from the very top of the doorway where the bar was initially mounted and down a flight of stairs.]
A violent water race:
Finale: An intense race that involved opening a Moroccan magic box, using scrabble tiles to solve clues, finding the numbers needed to open a combination lock, and making a fire large enough to burn through a piece of twine (which, of course, caused the team flag to raise)
Hot dog roast:
::edit::
Thank you to Oscar Mayer for inventing fully cooked bacon which does not require refrigeration. Thanks to this wonderful invention, we were able to bring bacon to Morocco and eat it for breakfast on my birthday. The leftover bacon was used to make the most delicious BLT sandwiches for lunch. :)
Thank you to the third grade Saxon Math curriculum for conveniently covering "calendars" in unit 1. Thanks to this lesson, all of Nicole's students were forced to create a September calendar and mark any important events/holidays on that calendar - including Mrs. Grudda's birthday. They must have paid attention because none of them forgot:
