Fantasia

    Officially, we have experienced Fantasia. Fantasia is a traditional horse-riding performance reminiscent of the historic attacks of Berber warriors. The performance consists of a team of traditionally dressed horse riders who skillfully charge together in a straight line. At the end of their charge, they each simultaneously fire their muskets into the sky in an attempt to emit a single shot sound.

Our thoughts on our Fantasia experience:

• The bumper-to-bumper traffic to get there was horrendous (in spite of it being only 4 miles away, it took over 1 hour to get there and we saw three accidents on the way)
• It was so crowded that we could barely see the show
• The air was practically toxic with cigarette smoke
• The gunshots made us jump every time, making pictures nearly impossible
• The same routine of charging horses happens over and over and over and over
• The bumper-to-bumper traffic to get home was ridiculous (although we did get to ride home in the company of our friends who were crazy enough to run the 4 mile distance in order to catch the final few minutes of the show)

    Overall, we're not sure why Moroccans are so ecstatic about Fantasia. We may decide to fight the crowds one more time in an attempt to gain a better experience...maybe. For now; however, we're not sure we'd recommend it. Your time would be much better spent at the beach:
