Agadir
We spent three nights and two intense days in Agadir, a city known for its sandy beaches. On our first full day, April 10, we woke up early and eager to begin our camel-riding adventure (arguably the highlight of our entire trip). A taxi picked us up from our 2-bedroom apartment/hotel and drove us to our camels. We trekked for about 1.5 hours along the coast of Agadir and then back again, watching hundreds of surfers riding the waves along the way. At the end of the tour, we enjoyed Moroccan mint tea at the camel/horse stables. It was awesome.

After the camel trek, we explored the Agadir souk (market) and found a few souvenirs. We got real good at bargaining. (Tip for future visitors: if a Moroccan shopkeeper says that something costs 200 dirhams, you're getting ripped off if you pay any more than 20 dirhams.) We also got to see plenty of Moroccan women squeezing authentic Argan oil out of goat poop patties.

Legzira Beach
On our second full day in Agadir, we decided to drive 2.5 hours away in order to have a PB&J picnic lunch at Legzira Beach, a beautiful beach which is famous for its two natural rock archways. Unfortunately, we failed to think about how the tides would affect this trip. Had we gone at low tide, it would have been much more enjoyable and picturesque. Lesson learned for next time. It was approaching high tide when we arrived (& it was a cloudy day), so we had to race through the archways and back again so as to not get trapped in by the tide. Nevertheless, we think that the trip to Legzira Beach was worth the drive and we did manage to get a few cool pictures before the tide closed in.
& then we went to Marrakech! Stay tuned...
