Also on the way, we saw this sign. We went to every single town on it!
Marrakech
It took quite some time before we found our Riad (Moroccan hotel) in Marrakech. We asked three different people for directions before paying some stranger to lead us down the complicated and crowded streets inside the old Medina to our Riad. It turned out to be a bit of a hole in the wall sort of place...but the experience of finding it and staying there for one night was worth it.
We dropped our bags and immediately set off to the main Medina square. After a delicious Moroccan lunch, we started shopping. We perfected the art of bargaining (Mary got necklaces for $1.75 each, when the starting price was $12 each). After hours of exploring the Marrakech Medina, we eventually made our way back to the center square for supper, henna, and snake charmers.

We opted to take a horse drawn carriage ride back to our Riad. The next day, we left for home so that Dad and Mary could get packed and ready for their trip to Venice!
& then they came back to Casablanca! Stay tuned...
