We are so jealous of Dad & Mary's adventure in Venice. They had a lot of fun!
If you count airport layovers, this trip allowed them to visit 5 new countries. We are so thankful that they were able to come, as it was so great to see them. After they ventured out on their own to Italy, they came back to Casablanca for 3 more nights. They spoiled us with even more incredible gifts from Italy & then we continued to have some pretty awesome adventures...
On their first day back (April 17) we had our maid, Basma, cook a giant Moroccan feast of Seffa and stuffed vegetables for us after she finished cleaning our house. She is a hard worker and an excellent cook.
GWA
Perhaps someday we will take enough good pictures to give you a true visual tour of where we work...but for now this aerial shot (which we didn't take) will have to suffice. Since we still had to work on Thursday (April 18), Dad and Mary got to spend the day touring GWA and hanging out with third grade. Nicole put them to work tying all of her students' solar system mobiles together. Thanks for that!
Snail Vendor #51
Just outside of the Morocco Mall, over 50 snail soup vendors line up side-by-side every single night. Dad had been practically begging to try snails ever since his arrival in Morocco, so on our our way to a fancy dinner at Rick's we stopped to get a snail soup appetizer. Dave didn't try them & Mary didn't like them...but Dad and Nicole found them rather tasty. Our description: They had the texture of a mushroom and tasted like well-flavored chicken noodle soup broth.
| We ate most of them! |
Rick's Cafe
Thursday night concluded with an excellent dinner at the famous Rick's Cafe, where our meal was accompanied by live piano and saxophone music. We enjoyed filet mignon and roasted duck dinners along with ice cream sundaes, chocolate lava cakes, and peach melba for dessert. Yum. You will never have a bad meal at Rick's!
& then there was only one day left! Stay tuned...

We miss all the friends and family that we en counted during our 2 week vacation.Sadly we have to work some more to pay for another adventure in the future.
